UPGO Rehearsal

UP Guitar Orchestra Rehearsal May 26, 2010

Jordan is left alone on Guitar 1. lol. Soloist.

Tomorrow is the wedding of a dear friend. Accompanied him to the salon today. I also got a haircut by my stylist Ken. He is straight and doesn't talk much but cuts really well. Very light hands.

Beer and Pizza

Beer and pizza go well together. I ordered pizza at Angel's Pizza. Pasta. Combo. They have the better tasting vegetarian pizza (the best one was in Dumaguete).

When you buy a big family size pizza, you get a medium size one for free. Not bad.

Going bananas over bananas

I ate a lot of bananas when I was in Davao two weeks ago.

My personal favorite is the grilled one that I couldn't eat here in Manila. The other place I know that makes this "Ginanggang" is Samar Island in Visayas.

My late Dad's favorite. Fried Bananas. Eat them hot with butter. ;-)

I didn't take a picture on the boiled and fried (with sugar) ones though.

Bananas contain vitamin B6, C and Potassium. I like to eat them before a guitar performance or a really strenuous activity.

Breakfast on the road

It sucks that I can't have breakfast properly.

This is just one of those hectic days. I'm glad I'm almost done with them.

Lucky Food

A really cool gift from Asuna-san which my mom didn't open because she didn't know what it was. She waited for me to come home and figure things out for her (given my tiny knowledge of the Nihongo).

It turned out to be a snack. Mamemasa "Kuriimu Goshiki Mame" or the five colored bean cream.

Beans are considered "lucky food." And the five colors represents the earth: green for trees, pink for fire, yellow for soil, white for gold and brown for water. (source) uhmmm... yeah, that's what the website says but I think its yellow for gold, white for water and brown for soil, right? right? lol

Aside from the earth representation, the colors indicate flavor. Ichigo (strawberry), Banana, Miruku (milk), Koohii (coffee), and Maccha (green tea).

120th Anniversary of the five colored bean cream.

--------------------------------------

Watched a LIVE last night. Veteran musicians are very entertaining to listen to.

Thank you for letting me play Chico, Paolo, Mr. Elmer Alba (uncle of Michael Alba) and Mr. Benny (for lending me his guitar). Thank you to my cousin, Kuya Jingo for bringing me there.

My mom brought a camera but didn't take one single shot of me playing. LOL

And yeah, a LIVE is a shorter term for Live Concert, Live Performance etc. usually at a bar (I think!). Do you know if they use that term for concerts in real concert halls? Let me know. =)

Davao is home

No blog post yesterday.

One word to describe it? traffic jam... whether be it cars, airplanes, humans, manila to davao.

I think it has something to do with the May 10 elections. Politicians may be doing their last minute campaigns.

Here's something that I looked forward going to the airport.

Ya Kun Cheesy French Toast with Kaya, 2 soft boiled eggs and iced lemon tea.

The eggs are perfectly done.

I love love eggs. I can cook them any way. Soft boiled, hard boiled, poached, scrambled, sunny side up... omelettes and my favorite Tamagoyaki or egg rolls!

2 eggs are too much to eat in a day. But I ate them anyway. lol

Busride

The line went from the third floor to the basement.

I was home in just an hour and a half.

Metronome speakers

Shopping at an electronics supermarket, Deeco, located in Cubao.

Poor metronome. Been with me for 9 years already.

This is the second time I'm going to change its speakers. 0.4W for PhP79.

Korg KDM-1

In July, I will have a KORG KDM-2!

Kiddie Sweets

Well, here goes my sweet tooth again.

I bought all the Pocky's I could find at the grocery.

A personal favorite is the "Miruku" (Milk) Pocky.

I left the almond crush in the refrigerator and let my friends eat it. They said it tasted like Nestle Drumstick. I thought "Huh? Are you sure?" hahahaha. But it tasted great cold.

I better find some grown up desserts fast to substitute this kiddie sweet tooth of mine. Lol.

Which Pocky is your favorite?
